New Dress

Hello Lovelies,
This is my new maxi dress!! it is a jersey with a lovely 3/4 sleeve and a cat that curls around your legs right at the bottom and I love it! It came with a self belt but I'm not a big fan of the self belt so I wear it with a large black elasticised number.

Vintage Homemaking Books

Hi Lovelies,
This is my collection of reproduction vintage homemaking books. All these books came from The Book Depository and are all exact new copies of the originals, and cheap too a lot of them were under $10!

There are all sorts from Make Do And Mend, Sew And Save, and various cookbooks telling us how to cook during rationing, there are also books on how to keep the family entertained during the blackout.
Sometimes they just sit in the bookcase, but I do scatter them around the house and display them on plate stands.

More Shopping Bags!

Hi again,
I made myself some grocery shopping bags recently! all lovely patterns and colours that came from Spotlight. They look super cute all filled up, piled in my trolley and the checkout girls always comment on how pretty they are. They are just rectangles with a couple of handles and the seams are all double stitched for extra strength.

What's In My Bag?

Hi again,
So here is my post "Whats in my Bag!"

This bag was a prezzie from Mr Lovely last year when we were in Amsterdam, it is the Louis Vuitton Neverfull GM in the monogram print and to say I love it would be an understatement. Miss Lovely ( daughter Mollie) has convinced me she needs this bag for her 18th birthday in a few weeks. She thinks it will be the perfect university bag, I thinks she's right. My soon to be daughter-in-law Gemma is lusting over it too and we all agree it would make a great baby bag ( but not yet, lets get you married first!) maybe it could be a "buy me a nice bag on our honeymoon bag".So you get the picture, I have serious bag love for my Neverfull

It holds the most enormous amount of stuff and because the bag itself is very light it never feels heavy even when full ( but its never full heehee ) The handles can actually withstand weight up to 115 kilos!!

The blue leather purse came from a consignment boutique in Claremont, WA.
The brown leather card holder is as old as the hills!
And the tapestry purse had been from a gift store in Berlin.

My sunglasses which came from Melbourne about 5 years ago
My iPhone in its teddy case which I got from Ebay. The crochet case I made myself
This scarf came from the Salvos, I always have one in my bag in case I finish up trying on dresses and you don't want to leave makeup stains. The dust bag to my Neverfull in case I have to put it down somewhere grubby ( I know, obnoxious right ) and a shopping bag I made.
I have a couple of cosmetic purses, one came from Etsy the other from Target and in them I have my Chanel no. 5 purse spray, YSL lippy, Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain, Mason Pearson comb, mirror, statique purse spray in case I cling to my dress, Nivea balm, Lanolips, ( I know I have a lip product problem ) and a lint remover which came from Spotlight ( I dont know if I bought it because I am expecting a lot of lint or beacause it was pink)

Anyway, thats what I'm carting around with me at the moment. I dont think its that much really, I tend to change bags regularly so I dont really accumulate much crap. Hope you enjoyed this, I just love peeking inside ladies bags (in a completely legal way, I swear) !

Shopping Bags

Hi again,
I thought I would share with you a couple of crochet shopping bags I made recently.

This lavender and red one is made from knitlon. It really took a lot more balls of this than I anticipated so actually turned out to be the most expensive shopping bag of life! so no repeats of this one.It also took quite a long time to make. This is what happens when you make up patterns as you go along. But it is lovely and I do get a lot of compliments on it.
This one I made some time ago.It is made up of granny squares in 8ply and the inside is lined with a navy blue shantung.I got the idea for this one from designers Romance was Born a few seasons ago.
The handles on both bags came from Spotlight.

Coming up in future Blogposts will be:

Whats in my bag?
Whats on my Dressing Table?
and lots of other stuff and Mr Lovely said " Wen do you reckon you will run out of things to say on your blog?" with a smirk on his face.
What an idiot!

Aprons

So I like to sew, and aprons are my thing at the moment. I am a tall girl , 5 feet 11 inches, so I like my apron to be long enough and cover me properly because I'm pretty messy in the kitchen, I also like them to have a BIG pocket so I can put things in ( like pegs and stuff ). This is a made up pattern of my own, incredibly easy and I think it turned out great! It is called a Pinner Apron because I don't like ties around my neck, annoys the hell out of me, so I just pin the bib on. Oh and it only took me an hour and a half to make!

Bickies

So this is what I produced today! choc chip cookies and they are always popular. The vintage cake tin comes from the Antique and Collectors Fair in Claremont ( they usually hold at least 2 fairs a year) and I always come back with more stuff to fill my already bursting house.

So I am totally new to this blog thing and it will take me a while to work it all out ( will enlist reluctant teenagers to help ) but one thing is for sure, I have plenty of material to go in it! I will prattle on about my love of handbags ( it is bordering on an illness!), books, I have a serious addiction to the Book Depository, dresses, because I never wear anything but dresses, kitchenalia, kitty cat, kids ( I have 4 of those ) my frequent visits to Priceline, Spotlight and my pretty pink, yes pink, house, oh and yes I have a husband too! who we might refer to as Mr Lovely, cos thats what bloggers do, don't they and he will absolutely hate that! haha.
